Will Counseling Interns Accept Insurance?
No. Insurance companies only contract with licensed counselors, because counselors in training are not yet licensed we cannot accept insurance as a form of payment. We do accept cash, card and check. Payment is due at the time of service.
Will a Supervisor be Sitting in with Us in the Session?
You can expect most sessions to be just you and your counselor intern. Supervisors may sit in to observe and co-counsel sessions from time to time.
Will I Be Recorded?
Yes. Each counseling session with a counselor intern will be recorded. These recordings are used for training purposes only. They are regularly deleted from our secure system and when used, they are kept confidential and shared only within our TWCTC training team and the intern's university.
What is the Difference Between a Licensed Counselor and a Counselor Intern?
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) has met the State of Idaho requirements for licensure. These requirements include 1000 hours of supervised experience and a relevant graduate degree.
A counseling intern is working towards meeting their supervised experience hours and attaining their Graduate Degree.
When are Appointments Available to Schedule?
Our counseling interns have a variety of available openings Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Specific availability will depend on location and each individual counselor intern's schedule.
